Rooted in personal experience, my expertise lies in navigating a complex and disjointed disability services system for yourself and/or your loved ones. As a Regional Center client myself, I know first hand how difficult it is to get the help you are entitled to. Whether you're new to the Regional Center system or if you've been a client for a few years but not getting the help you need, I will help you get the services and funds that fit your specific situation. I teach you to identify and advocate for your needs based on the policies outlined by California Department of Developmental Services so that you can finally thrive!
Person Centered Planning
The core of every good Self Determination Program is a Person Centered Plan. Rather than focusing on disabilities, regulations, and limitations, we focus on your dreams, aspirations, and special talents. Together with your support team, we will:

Identify goals that are important to you

Identify areas of need where you've been underserved

Design an ideal weekly schedule if you were to be fully supported
This is the first step on your way to SDP! Best of all, this service is paid for by Regional Centers and is completely free to you.
SDP Transition
Once your Person Centered Plan is complete, we will move onto the Transition portion of SDP. This process takes 6-8 months to complete. While it may seem like a long time, there is a lot going on in the background to get your Self Determination Program up and running.
We will:

Identify a budget that fully supports your needs based on your RC's current vendors

Create a Spending Plan where you get to creatively allocate funds for vendors not available under the Traditional Program

Identify and onboard with a Financial Management System
This portion of the SDP process is free to you and paid for by your Regional Center.
Ongoing Support
Once you have transitioned to SDP, the real work starts! Onboarding new vendors, paying invoices, hiring and managing staff - I can help you with all these tasks. It is recommended to have this service for at least the first year in SDP as you are getting used to the program. The fees are charged hourly out of your SDP budget, but are affordable and best of all - completely worth it!
